Warner Bros. Entertainment provided me with a complimentary copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this blog post. Regardless of receiving a complimentary copy, I’m sharing my 100% honest and unbiased opinion with our readers.
Chosen as one of Variety’s “11 Best Movies of the 2019 SXSW Film Festival,” Warner Bros. Home Entertainment brings you Snatchers – an original horror comedy feature film on Digital January 7, and Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD on February 18, 2020. Described as a cross between ALIENS meets MEAN GIRLS – the full-length film was initially released in new media as a successful short-form series that follows a status-obsessed high school teenager who loses her virginity and finds herself pregnant the next day…with an alien!

“Snatchers is a tale of friendship, self-worth and…aliens,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, WBHE Senior Vice President, Originals, Animation and Family. “The film brings the spirit of horror combined with gut-busting comedy with its edgy humor and bloody alien creatures. Snatchers is sure to keep you glued to your screen until the very end.”
Movie Synopsis: Senior year is going to rule! Thanks to her relationship with clueless hunk Skyler, Sara is totally in with the cool girls. But Skyler contracted an extraterrestrial bug during his summer vacation. After just one night together, Sara discovers she’s Nine. Months. Pregnant. Desperate to keep her condition on the DL, she turns to the only person she can trust: her nerdy ex-bestie, Hayley. The girls soon realize this alien problem is only just the beginning. Aliens had best beware in this hilarious comedy filled with action and tongue-in-cheek teen spirit.

I’m a big fan of comedy movies and my wife is a fan of horror & action flicks. When I saw the offer to review this title I thought it would be perfect for our next movie date night. It’s a combination of horror, comedy and drama all rolled up into one. The story is based on teenagers in high school but don’t let that stop you from watching it. There is plenty of gore, humor and drama to entertain us older adults. If you have older teenagers and/or young adults in your family I think this film will be an even bigger hit with that age group.
It stars Mary Nepi, Gabrielle Elyse, J. J. Nolan, Austin Fryberger, Nick Gomez, and Rich Fulcher. All of these actors were new to me and I was pleasantly surprised at their acting skills. One of the things that makes this movie entertaining to watch is the outrageous and unbelievable story line centered around teenage love, friendship and aliens. What a combination!
We don’t give out movie spoilers on the blog so I’m not going to tell you how it ends. On our popcorn rating scale I would give this flick 6 1/2 popcorn buckets out of 10. It’s different than any other movie that you’ve seen and that is why its entertaining. SNATCHERS is available for purchase from Amazon.

My kids always enjoyed horror movies. I never thought about combining the two genres of horror and comedy. i still do not think that I would enjoy this film.
I have a hard time with horror movies (even with some comedy) so I’ll pass on this one. I’ll tell my brother about it, he’d like it.
I had not heard of this movie until I read your post now I want to check this one out. This sounds like one the whole family would get a kick out of.
It does sound like a funny premise. I like the idea of combining horror with comedy.
