How many of you enjoy going out after a holiday to look for bargains? I enjoy going bargain hunting but ONLY go during a weekday after a holiday has concluded. I stay away from the stores on weekends due to being over-crowded. Sure….things get picked through but I can still find some awesome deals!
I hit some of the retail stores in January looking for some of those after the Christmas holiday deals. I hit one store and found Holiday Gift Bags on clearance for .40 cents each. These are medium-sized gift bags with cute designs. I picked up a total of 10 for the upcoming Christmas season. I also snagged 2 packs of 100 to & from gift tags for .40 cents a pack and 4 rolls of tape for $1.00. I found a pack of 6 empty shirt boxes for .50 cents and grabbed those too. I packed them away in my Christmas gift wrapping tote for later this year.
One of my favorite craft supply stores is going out of business. Boo-hoo! Sigh. Anyway, I went into their store and found these adorable kid’s Halloween craft kits marked down to .20 cents each. Yes, craft kits that include almost to everything a child needs to complete the project for .20 cents each. I picked up 8 of them and tucked them away for the fall season. I think my grandchildren will enjoy making those fun projects.
While I was in there I picked up 20 bottles of acrylic craft paint (variety of different colors) for .20 cents a bottle, a pack of new paint brushes $1.00, 2 picture frames on clearance for $3.00 each, 2 bottles of kid’s craft glue .25 cents a bottle, a wreath door hanger for .50 cents and a few other things. Everything in the store is currently 30% to 80% off. I hope I can stop in again before they totally shut their doors.
So…what kind of bargains and deals did you find after the holiday season? Grab any good deals last month? Tell us about them in our blog’s comment form below.
You were able to get some great deals. I found some nice clear holiday bags for cookies or candies for 50 cents a bunch. I want to use them next year to separate some of the cookies and candies that have a more pronounced taste from the other cookies and candies.
You’re my kind of gal! I like to shop for bargains after the holidays. Looks like you got a bunch of great stuff at a great price.
I just got some Valentines Day clings and decorations from the dollar store for 50% off. Also some candy that I shouldn’t have bought but couldn’t resist.
This sounds like me talking! I hate to shop on weekend because it is to crowed. Sounds like you got some great wrapping/bagging deals. I don’t do that anymore due to lack of room in my small apartment. But I am a crafter and if I saw the deals I would have bought and found a place for them.
I love shopping after any holiday. the girls love to make crafts even if the holiday is past. Also, I find great deals at the thrift store. People just want things to just go away so they give away all they did not use. I pick up unopened bags of stuff all the time for .25 or .50.
I’ve only been out shopping once in the last few weeks. I did get a scarf and a good pair of pants at the local thrift store for 50% off.
Wow that is a super deal on those craft packages and they are super cute. I love bargain hunting too. After Christmas I scored on several items that were marked down 75%. I purchased some slippers for $2.49, a robe for $2.49, a lotion set to include towels for $2.00 and an essential oils kit to include several oils for like $3.00. I am still happy about those finds.
You really got some great bargains Shelly! No doubt, your Grandchildren will enjoy making their crafts with you. I found a Spice Rack for 30% off and was really excited about that!
Oh…that’s cool. I could use a new one myself. Always feels great to NOT pay full price for something!
