18-Holes of Mini Golf at The Meadows
The Meadows Mini Golf is one of the best miniature golf courses in the Harrisburg area. We love to play the game, so we try to visit the meadows several times every year. In addition to mini golf…they offer batting cages, an indoor video arcade and a frozen custard shop. YUM!
We like to start off our family fun time with a game of mini golf. The course is beautifully landscaped with several water features, fountains and mini ponds. They keep their course updated and clean. Some of the holes are fairly easy while others are a bit more challenging. For adults…we average Par 2 and Par 3 for each hole.
Challenging each other is a lot of fun! The kids make fun “kid wagers” and the adults will pick up the tab. Okay, the LOSING adult picks up the tab! We will typically go on a weekday evening when they’re less crowded, so that we can take our leisurely time. During the weekends they can get busy, so we try to avoid that.
After playing mini golf the guys will challenge one another in the batting cages while the girls take the kids to the indoor arcade. If you’re a skee ball fan (we are), they have several skee ball machines, pinball machines, racing cars and video games that the entire family can play. I have to admit…I’m pretty darn good at skee ball.
To finish up our family play date we head inside to their frozen custard and yogurt shop to get an icy-cold treat. One of my favorites is their strawberry shortcake frozen custard while my husband enjoys their cookie dough. What’s really cool is that if you ask them…they will combine 2-3 different flavors together for you in your dish or cone. The kids will often do the combo flavors!
Typically we’ll spend 2 to 2 1/2 hours at The Meadows when out on a family play date. We feel its important to have regular play dates and get-togethers with our family. It helps us all to re-connect, de-stress and to have some much needed fun.
How about you? Do you enjoy the game of mini golf? Batting cages or video arcade games? Do you get together with your family often?
