I’ve been preserving food via the home canning method for almost 30 years. The first thing that I learned to can was red beets and from that time on…I was hooked! Do I need to preserve food this way? Of course not, but I really enjoy it.

Over the years I’ve owned several different Pressure Canners (Steam Canners) and some I’ve liked and others…not-so-much. A lot of people are afraid of pressure canning due to accidents and let’s face it, those type’s of home canning pots have typically been difficult to use. Until now.
I decided to update my Pressure Cooker and Pressure Canner and purchased a 2-in-1 from Amazon. I bought the T-fal Pressure Cooker and 22-Quart Canner. I do a lot of jarring, so I wanted this big size, but you could certainly opt for a smaller size if you’re a beginner or don’t do a lot of food preservation.
Check out these awesome features:
* 22-Quart Size, Aluminum Stove-top Canner & Pressure Cooker in one!
* Deluxe pressure gauge dial that’s easy to read and use.
* 3 cooking-pressure options: 5, 10 or 15 PSI; overpressure steam-release safety components.
* Heavy gauge, rustproof aluminum construction.
* Locking lid system.
* Pressure-monitoring device built into handle.
* 2 canning racks included!
* Recipe instruction book included.
* Limited 10 year warranty.
* UL Certified.
This Pressure Canner will hold up to 16 pint-size jars or 26 half-pint jars (double-stacked) or 7 quart-size mason jars.
If you’ve been afraid of using a Pressure Canner or Cooker, don’t be. Check out T-fal’s 5-Point Security System:
5 Point Security System includes a sure-locking lid system, over-pressure steam-release safety components and a pressure-monitoring device built into handle. The canner/pressure cooker can only pressurize if the lid is securely locked. It cannot be opened if pot is pressurized.
When you use it as a Pressure Cooker you can reduce your standard cooking times by up to 70%, which is fantastic for those of us who lead busy lives and don’t have hours to spend in the kitchen every day getting dinner onto the table.
I’ve been using my new T-fal Pressure Cooker and Canner for 2 1/2 months and love it. Out of all of the canners that I’ve owned over the years, this one is the easiest to operate and I love all of the built-in safety features. I can get a lot of my home canning done at one time due to the large 22-Quart size. When I’m not using it, I store all of my supplies inside it to save on store space (ladles, wide mouth funnel, jar seals, jar rings, jar lifters, etc.).
After shopping around for 4 months I finally decided to buy my T-fal Pressure Cooker and Canner from Amazon. They offer it at a great price and since we’re Prime members, it was shipped for FREE and arrived 2 days after I placed my order. Gotta love that quick service.

I like the T-Fal brand. I like how the two utensils have been combined here. If you do a lot of canning this would be a great buy.
Pressure canning is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. I’d love to be able to can things like my own chicken or turkey stock–now I just freeze them, and it takes up so much precious freezer space. Thanks for the information about this T-Fal model; I like that brand, and it’s good to know you’re having a good experience with their pressure canner. Maybe someday I’ll jump in and give it a try!
It’s the best pressure cooker and steam canner that I’ve ever owned. It’s so easy to operate and for once I’m not scared to use it. In the past I always made sure Sam or my Mom were here when I was running the other canners. I was always afraid of it blowing up, me getting burned, jars exploding etc. Not with this one. Thanks to the safety lock it won’t open until it has been fully de-pressurized. I really love it..;.hence why I wanted to share my opinion about it here on the blog. I’m actually thinking about buying a second one and running both at the same time so I can get done quicker!
I definitely like how much safer this is than the old style pressure cookers. My Grandmas both canned and I lived in fear of those hissing, shaking cookers, lol. I refused to go to the kitchen while they were on.
This would be a good cooker for home canning. My mother used to can when I was growing up but I’ve never been interested enough to do it.
I have such happy childhood memories of my grandmother and mother canning and preserving. Nothing better in the winter time than delicious pots of homemade soups and vegetables that were loving stored away in the warmer months of the year. Years ago I purchased a frying pan from Tfal and it was excellent quality.
Hmm, I think I may have to upgrade my pressure canner. I think I paid more for the one I have 15 years ago. I like TFal products and have never been let down by them. I totally get the satisfaction of opening a jar of pickles or green beans grown in your own garden in the middle of January. I freeze half of my garden haul and can half.
