When you were a kid what was your favorite thing to do outside? Did you enjoy climbing trees, rollerskating, bike riding, skate boarding, playing ball or what? When I was a kid I liked to go roller skating with my friends and then when I was a teenager that turned into scooter riding around the neighborhood. I enjoyed playing outside with my friends and it didn’t matter how cold it was!
Times were so different when I was a kid. There were no computers, tablets, cell phones, etc. We ran the streets, played basketball, road bikes and had the times of our lives. We knew to be home by the times the street lights came on. Life was simpler then and life was good.
I enjoyed roller skating when I was a kid. The area had too many cars for anything else. I am looking forward as usual to the cookbooks and then also toys for kids and cats.
My favorite thing in the winter was ice skating at the neighborhood ice rink where everyone from little kids to older adults would be most evenings throughout the winter months. I have good memories of that.
I’d say that riding my bike was my favorite thing to do as a kid. We lived in a subdivision without too much traffic, so we’d ride bikes all over the neighborhood.
I rode my bike on our dead end street. We did this until the street light came on. Then it was time to go inside.
