Last month our local grocery store put all of their HERSHEY’S Cookies ‘n Creme Baking Pieces on sale for 75 % off regular price. They came down to .48 cents per 9 oz. bag, so I purchased 4 bags! They freeze really well, so I froze three bags and used one bag to make the following recipe which was printed on the package.
These bars are really good fresh from the oven and still warm. You can also warm them up in your microwave oven. I love them warmed up but hubby enjoys them at room temperature. Perfect with my morning coffee or with my evening mug of hot cocoa. Delicious!
You will need to lightly grease a 9″ square baking dish and preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
HERSHEY’S Cookies ‘n Creme Bars Recipe
6 Tbsp. butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 3/4 cups HERSHEY’S Cookies ‘n Creme Baking Bits
Prepare the baking dish and preheat the oven.
In a large mixing bowl beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, egg and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually beat flour mixture into the butter mixture until well combined.
Use a large spoon to stir in the HERSHEY’S Cookies ‘n Creme Baking Bits. Stir until they’re evenly distributed throughout the cookie batter.
Pour cookie batter into your prepared baking dish. Use a spoon or spatula to evenly spread it in the dish. Place into a 350 degree F preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the center is done and the top is lightly browned. Remove from oven. Let cool. Cut into bars. Store bars in an airtight container.
