Where Will You Find the Best Biscuits in the American South?

December 24, 2019 by Sam H.

Where Will You Find the Best Biscuits in the American SouthThe biscuit is the manna of the South.

A true Southern family knows the biscuit holds a high place of importance when it comes to eating. It can’t be too crumbly, and it can’t be too thin and hard. It has to be just right, and oftentimes, the best recipes are passed down in the family.

Many Southern people have memories of sitting in their grandma’s kitchen and watching her whip up the best biscuits like it was her natural talent. It takes skill, love, and a whole lot of butter.

Now that your mouth is water, keep reading to find out where to get the best biscuits in the South.

On the Road

Let’s say you aren’t from the South or you’re a Southern on-the-go. You’ve been traveling for hours on the highway, but you want a warm, buttery biscuit. Where do you go?

There are good fast-food biscuits, and there are very bad ones. You have to be careful about where you stop in order to satisfy your cravings. Don’t let those extra ab workouts go to waste on a yucky biscuit.

One of the top spots to grab a biscuit while on the road in the American South is Bojangles. Their biscuits are hot, fluffy, and filled with the right amount of love. You’ll be wanting to turn around for more.

While this might surprise some people, Hardee’s carries one of the best biscuits. You’ll want to wear a pair of loose pants and grab extra napkins.

Check these fast-food chains out. If you don’t, bless your heart.

Best Biscuits of the State

One of the best states for Southern cooking is the great old state of Kentucky. If you’re there for a quick business trip or fun getaway in Louisville, check out Gralehaus. Their biscuits will leave you on cloud nine.

Georgia cooking is full of soul, and it’ll have you dancing from how delicious it is. If you’re in the Atlanta area, make sure to grab a biscuit at Stilesboro Biscuits. It can get busy, but the wait is worth it.

A true Southern experience can be found in Alabama. While you’re in the major city of Birmingham, check out Jack’s for a large array of biscuit breakfast options. We won’t tell when you order a second.

One of the best parts of Louisiana is Southern cooking. As you look to mend your wrongs in New Orleans, dine on a biscuit at Surrey’s Cafe and Juice Bar. It’ll make the morning after a little smoother.

If you’re unable to go out and grab a biscuit in any of these states, try making these sourdough biscuits at home. They’ll do the trick.

Save Room for These Biscuits

You’ll find information on some of the best biscuits of the South above, and you’ll want to make sure to save some room in your stomach. You’ll probably eat one or two. You might even eat three.

If the biscuits start falling apart due to dryness, go ahead and throw them away. You don’t want that.
