Vacation Abroad: Check Out These Most Visited Cities in EuropeIt’s not surprising that 670 million tourists visited Europe in 2017.
There’s so much to see, so much to do! Where do you even start?

You might want to try seeing the most visited cities in Europe. After all, if other people have said how wonderful they are, they must have something great to offer (and trust us, they do!).

These are the most visited cities in Europe and some spots that you definitely won’t want to miss.

1. Paris, France

Who doesn’t love the idea of going to Paris? Living simplistically chic, eating fresh bread under the lights in the city of love?

Paris doesn’t need us to sell it, it’s a city that’s probably already on your bucket list.

When you visit Paris, don’t forget to take some of the best tours. Visit iconic locations like the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, or the bridge from Inception.

2. Rome, Italy

Founded in 753 B.C.E., Rome is one of the oldest cities still alive. It has a rich hub that has always been at the heart of power, culture, and religion.

Roam boasts amazing ancient ruins and a rich history that blurs with legends. It’s a must-see stop for anyone looking to travel to Europe.
While you’re there, stop and see the colosseum, and swing by the Vatican. The Vatican has several museums that attract millions of visitors every year.

3. London U.K.

London is the largest city in the European Union, and there’s no shortage of things to do. Visit Big Ben or any of the many castles in and around the bustling city.

London is one of the world’s leading cities in culture, fashion, and art. Visit museums and rest in coffee shops. Enjoy listening to everyone speaking with that luxurious English accent.

Don’t forget to step away from the popular tourist attractions too. There are many amazing small boutiques and shops you need to experience as the locals do.

4. Istanbul, Turkey

Istanbul rests on the border of Asia and Europe and has been a border city since its existence. As a result, it has a rich cultural diversity you can’t find anywhere else in the world!

Visit spectacular mosques and outdoor markets. And of course, no trip to Istanbul is complete without seeing the iconic Hagia Sophia. Just photos of this beautiful relic are breathtaking. Imagine seeing it in person!

5. Barcelona, Spain

Spain is one of the easiest countries in Europe to travel to on a budget. And Barcelona is a choice destination.

It’s always sunny, with beautiful beaches. There are plenty of activities and a cultural and artistic world hub.

If you’re worried about traveling where you don’t know the language, Barcelona is a good place to start. Most Americans know a bit of Spanish. Since Barcelona is a worldwide tourist destination, it’s happy to accommodate you.

Barcelona is a great place to get used to traveling in foreign countries. It can help you step outside your comfort zone and learn to navigate a city where you don’t speak the language.

6. Prague, Czech Republic

In World War II, many of Europe’s capitals suffered extreme devastation, destroying history. Prague managed to survive the blasts. Much of its ancient architecture remains intact.

It’s a city for artists, architects, and history buffs. There are enough museums, theaters, and historical exhibits to keep you busy for days! Prague’s city center has even been listed as one of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites.

7. Vienna, Austria

Sigmund Freud, Joeseph Stalin, and Adolf Hitler all once called Vienna home. , Vienna is a must for history buffs.

But today it’s more well known for a city of attractions. It boasts of nearly a hundred museums! There is a permanent fairgrounds, a palace and palace grounds, and so much more!

It’s called the most liveable city in the world. It focuses on being environmentally friendly and sustainable. Almost half the city is located in green areas that focus on green urban mobility. You’ll notice a lack of cars on the street.

While you’re there, enjoy some coffee and cake and visit a museum. Take a sunset stroll, and go shopping in the city square. Who knows, after your visit, you may decide it’s time to relocate and call Vienna home.

Explore the food, the shops, and all of the spectacular destinations Vienna has to offer!

8. Dublin, Ireland

Dublin sees more visitors every year than the entire population of Ireland itself! It’s no wonder. Ireland is full of beautiful landscapes and a cheerful, jovial culture.

Many Dublin tourists are of widespread Irish descendants returning to their heritage site. But it doesn’t hurt that Guineuss’s main distillery is located right in Dublin.

Either way, enjoy a pint and explore the scenery. See some of the castles around town, and enjoy an Irish welcome.

9. Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Amsterdam is full of cafes, music, and parks. Stroll or bike through the city, and explore the local boutiques.

You can even visit the home Anne Frank stayed in before she and her family were captured by the Nazis.

Part of the Amsterdam appeal may come from The Fault in Our Stars. If you’re a fan of John Green’s young adult novel, Amsterdam is a must-see.

i have been to four of the cites and to Spain, thanks to being a military family. They are beautiful cities. I would love to see them again but I really don’t think they would be same 30 years later.

I figured Paris would be number one. I’d also love to see Athens and the Greek Isles. I bet those would be amazing with the blue sea and the white buildings so typical in that area.
