Looking for a quick and easy holiday craft project to make with the kids? If so, these easy snowman seashell Christmas ornaments are easy-to-make and you only need a handful of supplies to make them.
Once these snowman Christmas ornaments have been completed they can be used as package toppers, hung from your holiday wreath & garlands or hang them on the Christmas tree.
Kid’s Craft Project: Easy Snowman Seashell Christmas Ornaments
Scallop Seashells
White, Black and Orange Acrylic Craft Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Round Wooden Toothpick
Scissors
Quick-Drying Craft Glue
Clear Fishing Line
Base coat the outside of each scallop seashell with 2 coats of white acrylic craft paint. Let dry for 30 minutes. The “flat end” of the seashell will serve as the top portion of your snowman’s black top hat. Refer to the photo to see what I mean. Use black acrylic craft paint to paint on his top hat.
Dip the back end of your paint brush into black paint and then dot on 2 eyes. Dip the end of the round wood toothpick into black paint and dot on tiny dots to serve as his mouth. Use the paint brush and orange paint to make a triangular-shaped nose. Let paint dry for 30 minutes. You can add 2 tiny white dots to his inner eyes or completely omit them.
You will need a 5″ long piece of clear fishing line to make a hanging loop by knotting the two ends together. Flip your ornament over and glue the hanging loop on the back. Let dry for 1-2 hours. That’s it, you’re done!
Optional: If you want to protect the painted surface for years to come you can spray your painted snowman seashell ornaments with 2 coats of clear acrylic spray sealer. You will want to have an adult do that process and it will need to be done outside.

This does look like a fun project for kids. I shall save this for my grandsons for next year.
What a cute craft. I’m always looking for holiday themed crafts for my daughter and this one is even better because we can hang it up on our tree. We even have all the supplies since we collect sea shells every time we go to the beach.
The girls will be here in a couple of days. I can’t wait to do these shell crafts you post. They will really enjoy making them. Thank you.
I helped my 3 yr old great niece make christmas ornaments for all those grandparents, aunts and mommie. She had so mch fun doing it. Going to save this for next year she will be old enough to do more and will have fun with it
