Discovery #MindBlown Slimeology 101 DIY Kit

December 6, 2019 by Jenelle

Discovery #MindBlown Slimeology 101 DIY KitLike most kids my children enjoy playing with slime. I’m not sure why kids are so fascinated with it, but they are and it entertains them for days on end.  That’s why it makes the perfect holiday gift, birthday gift or “just because” gift any time of the year.

The Discovery #Mindblown Slimeology 101 5-in-1 DIY Slime Kit is the perfect STEM kit to keep kids busy throughout the holidays and winter season. Even though they’ll be spending more time indoors, it’s our job as parents to give them educational and fun activities to do.

Discovery #MindBlown Slimeology 101 DIY Kit

My daughter is 10 1/2 years old and is an experienced slime maker. She didn’t need any help making the slime. My son is 4 years old and needed adult help and supervision. I mention ages so that you can appropriately buy your holiday and birthday gifts.

I left the kids each pick out which type of slime they wanted to make. The Princess chose to make the Glitter Slime and Prince chose the glow-in-the-dark. Since you can make 5 different types its a great kit for families who have more than one child within the appropriate age ranges.

Within 10-12 minutes they had the slime made and then spent several hours playing with their finished creations. This slime (once made) has a really nice consistency to it. It didn’t stick all over their hands, had no foul odors and was easy to stretch into funky shapes. Not all slime is created equal and you can really tell that this kit makes a nice quality slime!

You can find educational toys and games from Discovery on their official website and from several retailers across the nation.

I love STEM based toys. There are so many more of them now than when my kids were young.

My grandkids like anything to do with making and playing with slime. What fun to have the glow in the dark paint and shimmer powder to add in.

I laughed a bit at the phrase: quality slime. I think it’s an oxymoron. Looks like a fun kit.

I imagine this would be a lot of fun for a child! STEM based toys are not only educational but are also fun.
