I’ve been heavily into arts and crafts for the past 40 years. Matter of fact, I’ve shared hundreds of different projects that I’ve made here on the blog. Over the years I’ve learned that the TCC blog readers love craft projects that are unique and easy-to-make. They’re tired of seeing the same old, same old splashed all over the interest.

Let me introduce you to one of the newest and hottest crazes in the crafting world. It’s called Diamond Painting. If you enjoy cross-stitch and/or paint-by-numbers your going to LOVE Diamond Painting!
What’s really cool about this craft medium is that you can create some really beautiful artwork pieces for your home. The best way to get started is by purchased a Diamond Art Kit from DiamondArtClub.com. You’ll find all kinds of different designs…a design and style to suit everyone.
I received a complimentary Diamond Art Kit to try out for all of you. Inside my kit was full directions, all of the little rhinestone beads that I needed, the applicator, the wax for the applicator and the color-coded sticky art canvas. Everything comes in a box for easy storage and its a great take-along project when you travel.
The first thing you want to do is read the directions which ONLY takes 3-4 minutes to do. You’ll want to sort all of your rhinestones by color (they come pre-sorted in little bags) but I recommend placing them in zipper-close snack-size baggies. This will keep them from spilling. I numbers all of my bags by following the color-coded key printed on the canvas. I was then ready to rock and roll.
I laid out my canvas and decided that it would be easier for me to work on the right side of the canvas from top to bottom. Then move to the center and then finish up on the left side from top to bottom. The canvas has a very sticky coating to it so that your rhinestones will firmly stick into place. You’ll peel back the clear film to reveal the sticky portion of the canvas.
Use the included Magic Diamond Applicator to pick up the rhinestone (faceted side up, flat side down) and place it onto the colored square on your canvas. They’re all numbered so that you know where to place each colored rhinestone. I recommend working in small sections at a time. They include a wax pad (mine is heart shaped) in your kit. Every few minutes you’ll dip the end of your Magic Diamond Applicator into the wax which helps to temporarily adhere your rhinestone to the applicator until you place it down onto your canvas. EASY AS PIE!!!
This is not something that you’ll complete in a day so it will keep you busy. I found the entire process to be easy and very relaxing. I was able to work on it while watching movies on TV in the evening when I wanted to sit down and relax. It’s a great way to relax, reduce stress and allow yourself to be creative at the same time. A win-win for sure!
I’m absolutely addicted to Diamond Art and Diamond Painting after working on this kit. Seriously, I’ve made a HUGE wish list from their website which I gave to my husband. He will now know what to get me for Valentine’s Day, our Anniversary, Easter, my Birthday, Mother’s Day and yes…Christmas next year! Did I say that I LOVE these kits yet? I do!
Head on over to the Diamond Art Club to take a look around. You’ll find some really great deals in their clearance and discontinue sections of their website. I also recommend that you check out their best sellers area for some really beautiful designs. You can connect with the company on Facebook and/or Instagram too.
