Be sure to visit in the first three weeks of December to get the full experience. This is when the Santa Clause Christmas Celebration happens. There are milk and cookies, holiday-themed activities, and a stunning light display.
3. Asheville, North Carolina
This up and coming city is home to America’s largest private residence. But the Biltmore isn’t just a home; it’s an estate. Built in 1895 by George Vanderbilt, this 250 room chateau features over 55 hand-decorated Christmas trees.
Once you tour the home, head to the winery on the estate to sample the many varieties offered. Then enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants on the estate in Antler Hill Village.
