Title: 24-Hour Quilting Projects
Author: Rita Weiss
Publisher: Dover Publications
ISBN: 978-0-486-80031-8
Full-color photos illustrate directions for pinwheel layouts, zig zag arrangements, patchwork designs, and appliqué motifs. Create wall hangings, decorative throws, and traditional quilts of all sizes that will add charm to any room. This wealth of projects — many of which can be finished in just six hours—offers designs that look as if they took months to stitch. In addition to their keepsake value, the quilts make wonderful gifts for all occasions.
The book is broken down into three easy-to-read chapters: Gallery of Quilts, Quilt Patterns and General Quilt-Making Directions. Each project has a materials list, cutting instructions, assembly and finishing directions.
In the past I’ve tried my hand at quilting but lost interest when it would take months to complete just one project. I’ve been wanting to jump back into quilting and was looking for an easy way and quicker way to do it when I received the 24-Hour Quilting Projects Book.
One of the things I really like about this book is that the author gives you very easy-to-understand, step-by-step instructions on how to make all of the designs. She gives you directions on how to complete the quilt top and then how to add a border. You can make traditional bed quilts, throw quilts, wall hangings, patchwork pillows, etc.
I’m heading to the local fabric store this weekend to pick up some supplies and I’m looking forward to working on a few quilt designs over the winter season. The perfect project to keep me busy during those cold, winter months.
