What Is the Best Way to Make Coffee?

November 4, 2019 by Sam H.

The Best Way to Make CoffeeAccording to a report by the National Coffee Association, Americans consume an average of 3 cups of coffee per day. 79% of them make their own coffee at home, while 36% buy it from coffee shops.

These numbers show that many people rely on coffee to fuel their productivity and boost brainpower. Whether you work from home or in an office, coffee is more than just a habit.

There are different ways and methods to prepare the perfect cup, but do you know what is the best way to make coffee? Keep reading to find out the answer.

Choose Good Quality Coffee

No matter what type of coffee maker or brewing method you use, to get a good cup of coffee, you need high-quality beans. You should also use filtered tap water or bottled spring water for the best taste.

Pay special attention to the origin of the bean, type of bean (go for 100% Arabica), the altitude/elevation it was grown at, and date of roasting/grinding.

Espresso Machine

The best way to brew coffee that is full-bodied and loaded with caffeine is with an espresso machine. This will bring out the layers of flavor of the beans and give you a cup of coffee that’s hard to forget.

You can use a manual espresso machine if you want to grind, tamp, and measure by yourself. Another option is an automatic espresso machine that does all the work for you.

French Press

French press brewed coffee is the European way of preparing coffee that’s gained worldwide popularity. There are no paper filters because the coffee grounds are soaked in hot water, and you use pressure to extract the coffee out of them.
The French press method requires coarse ground beans and water temperature of 200° F. This is to ensure the blooming of the coffee and getting the freshest, strongest taste.

Drip Coffee

Drip coffee is the classic way of making coffee that’ll make your mornings less stressful. You just put coffee in the filter, pour hot water over it, and while you’re getting ready for work, your coffee drips its way into the cup.

Drip coffee may be lighter in flavor than espresso or French press coffee, but it’s perfect for busy people who need their coffee fix right away.

AeroPress

The AeroPress was invented in 2005 by Alan Adler and is one of the newest types of coffee makers. It works by steeping and blooming the coffee for 20-50 seconds and then forcing it through a metal disc filter directly into the cup.

The AeroPress is a lightweight, portable coffee maker that you can take with you anywhere. You can also use it to make coffee at work if you have a specific brand you like.

The Best Way to Make Coffee Is Your Way

Coffee is often dubbed the “nectar of the Gods”, but this depends on how you make it and the quality of the beans you use.

Whether you’re using a French press, an espresso machine, or an AeroPress, at the end of the day, the best way to make coffee is your own way.

These are all good ways to make coffee. For me the most important is to have good quality beans and grind them yourself.
