Fun, Frugal, Finds: Haunted Halloween Gingerbread House Kits

November 11, 2019 by Shelly

Frugal Finds and Hot DealsHow many of you enjoy going out after a holiday to look for bargains? I enjoy going bargain hunting but ONLY go during a weekday after a holiday has concluded. I stay away from the stores on weekends due to being over-crowded. Sure….things get picked through but I can still find some awesome deals!

Halloween fell on a Thursday this year so I headed out to two of my favorite stores on Friday November 1st to look for some deals.

Big Lots was my first stop and I found bargain deals on left-over Halloween candy. I picked up 6 bags of chocolate candy for 75% off. They rang up at .80 per bag! I found a “bat theme” hanging windchime that’s motion activated. When someone walks by the bats swing and make spooky noises. Regular price $19.99 Clearance price $1.96.

Haunted Gingerbread House Kits for Halloween

Rite Aid was my second stop where I found more clearance deals on Halloween candy and picked up 4 more bags at .99 cents per bag. I’ll be dropping off most of this candy to a local senior’s center down the street. I picked up two Halloween greeting cards (to send next year to my grandchildren) for 60% off, so each one came down to .75 cents. At the end of the one aisle I found these cute Haunted Halloween Gingerbread Houses Kits that were 80% off. I picked up two kits at $1.69 each. Even though Halloween is over we’re going to build them with the grandchildren this coming weekend. Should be fun!

What kind of bargains and deals have you found lately? A lot of times I will go out and hunt down bargains and then donate them to local Senior Centers, Homeless Shelters, Animal Rescue Groups, Veteran Centers, etc. depending on the items that I find. So, don’t forget about picking up a few things and donating them too!

Thats a wonderful idea to donate your bargains. I love going out and finding them but I very often will talk myself out of them because I don’t need them. Donating would be a win – win.

I found some good buys at the supermarket for soups and canned vegetables that I will donate for a food drive at my church. Soup ended up being .99 each and vegetables .49. I am like you and try to stay away from the stores on weekends – way too busy for me.

Such a good bargain shopper you are. The only thing I got was some Reese’s Peanut butter pumpkins for 50% off.

You are a great bargain shopper. I found great prices at Aldi on Halloween candy. Some bags were only 49 cents! Your Halloween gingerbread kits sound like a lot of fun.

Shelly, You are a bargain shopper like me! I just got home from Publix where I picked up six cans of Progressive soup. They were $1.99 each and BOGO. So for $5.97 I got 6 cans of soup….but it get better. Because I shop at Publix every week for the BOGOs, I registered for their emails too. Last week they emailed a $5.00 off coupon. So tonight, in the end, I purchase 6 cans of Progressive soup for .97cents.
