Do you have an air fryer? I do, and I enjoy experimenting with new and different foods to make in it. If you cook for someone who eats gluten-free, you’ll be interested in The “I Love My Air Fryer” Gluten-Free Recipe Book: From Lemon Blueberry Muffins to Mediterranean Short Ribs, 175 Easy and Delicious Gluten-Free Recipes by Michelle Fagone (Adams Media/Simon and Schuster Publishing, June 2019).

This book includes a wide array of recipes covering everything from breakfast through dinner, plus snacks, appetizers, and desserts, all gluten-free and at least partially made in an air fryer. The recipes are “based on a four-person air fryer with a 1-pound, 13-ounce capacity and 1,425 watts.” Because of this, many recipes require cooking in batches, but if your air fryer is larger (mine is about twice that size), you may be able to adapt some of those recipes to cook more food at once.
My family is fortunate in that none of us need to restrict our diets in any way (other than trying to eat healthfully, of course). Nonetheless, I’ve marked many recipes in The “I Love My Air Fryer” Gluten-Free Recipe Book to try—this book definitely will appeal to anyone who loves their air fryer. Because all of the recipes are gluten-free, some require special ingredients such as gluten-free bread, crumbs, or flour, which you’ll already have on hand if you regularly prepare gluten-free foods; for my family, I’ll just substitute standard ingredients, such as all-purpose flour. But most of the recipes simply use naturally gluten-free ingredients (e.g., corn tortillas, dairy, fruits, vegetables, and meats), making them perfect for anyone whether or not they require gluten-free foods.
Allow me to tempt you with some of the recipes in this fun cookbook:
• Tater Tot Egg Cups
• Nutty Butternut Squash Bread
• Classic Hot Wings
• Mexican-Style Twice-Baked Potatoes
• Chicken Satay Kebabs with Peanut Sauce
• Beefy Bean Chili Pie
• Crab Cakes
• Vegetarian Lasagna
• Pumpkin Crunch Cake
This book is proof that you do not have to feel deprived of anything if you’re on a gluten-free diet—not to mention that the air fryer is an extremely versatile appliance!
Is there someone on your gift list who is gluten-free or who can’t stop talking about their air fryer? Consider giving them The “I Love My Air Fryer” Gluten-Free Recipe Book. They’ll appreciate it, for sure.
Michelle Fagone is the creator of the blog Cave Girl Cuisine, where she specializes in Paleo recipes. I wish I could afford to buy dozens of these books. So many interesting titles! I’d probably start with either Keto Bread or Keto for Two. I’m gluten free, but my son was just diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. So it could benefit us both at the same time.
