Taxi Ride with Victor by Sara Trofa and Elsa Klever

Taxi Ride with Victor by Sara Trofa and Elsa KleverVictor is everyone’s favorite extraterrestrial taxi drive, but he has a big problem. His memory is terrible! He can never remember his way around the galaxy. When he drops of his passengers at the wrong locations, there are some unexpected and hilarious high-jinks. Elsa Klever’s wonderful drawings incorporate every day experiences – like going to the dentist, the library or the post office – into otherworldly scenes with friendly aliens, talking clouds, grumpy ghosts and an enormous octopus. Taxi Ride with Victor by Sara Trofa and Elsa Klever

About the author and illustrator

Sara Trofa was born in Montferrat, Italy. She is a teacher and an author. Her first book was published in France in 2015. Elsa Klever is an acclaimed illustrator whose artwork has appeared in numerous publications. She was the winner of the 2015 Austrian Children’s Book Award. She currently resides in Hamburg, Germany.

To me, books are one of the most important things you can share with your children. They are vital in helping your child’s development. Books and stories enhance your child’s imagination and creativity, but they are more than just entertainment…they allow quality bonding moments for you and your child. Books also increase your child’s vocabulary skills, help build and develop their emotions, and help to enhance their ability to focus.

As an educator and librarian, I love to read…especially to children. I love to see their smiling faces and their reactions to the story as I get through each page. That was the best thing about being a children’s librarian. When my step-son was growing up, we made it a point to read at least three books every night. Now, at age 11, he makes it a point to read every night for about 10-20 minutes.

Taxi Ride with Victor by Sara Trofa and Elsa Klever

My husband and I are now expecting our first child together. I am so excited to welcome my little guy into the world…I’ve already started reading to him. I recently had a baby shower and all of my guests gifted me with a book to help build my child’s library. Most are board books, which are perfect for my little guy’s first year of life.

Before my baby shower, I had the pleasure to read Taxi Ride with Victor, a picture book written by Sara Trofa and illustrated by Elsa Klever. Now that I am out of the education/library world, I am always looking for new titles to introduce to the children in my life (nieces, nephews, sons, best friend’s kids). I am so glad I had the opportunity to check out private taxi service Melbourne. It’s a really comical story…You think Victor is going to take his passengers to where they requested, but he never does. In actuality, Victor ends up taking his passengers to where they actually needed to be. The story has a surprising, happy ending that just melted my heart. The writing is phenomenal…sure to keep your little one engaged, and the pictures are colorful and fun to look at. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this story and can’t wait to read it to my little guy when he’s old enough.

Taxi Ride with Victor became available for purchase on September 17, 2019. You can order your very own copy at Amazon, Barnes & Noble or your local book store. It is retailed for US $14.95 (CAN $19.95). I highly recommend you add this book to your library if you have a toddler or preschooler. Not only will your child enjoy this book, but you will too.
