The Spicy Cajun Popcorn and Nuts Snack Mix is the perfect munchie to serve at your fall get-together, football parties or just have on-hand when you need something spicy to munch on. At the guys in our family like to say…Bring on the heat!
Today’s guest post recipe is courtesy of Popcorn.org and will make approximately 9 cups of snack mix. You can visit their website to pick up additional free recipes and to learn more about them. I imagine you could substitute any of the nuts for your favorites. I’m not too fond of pecans but I love a good cashew! I think a sprinkle (or two) of sea salt would be a great addition too.
Spicy Cajun Popcorn and Nuts Snack Mix Recipe
8 cups popped popcorn
1/2 cup toasted, coarsely chopped pecans
1/2 cup peanuts
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, melted
1/4 teaspoon each: dry mustard, garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Place popcorn and nuts in large bowl.
In small microwave-safe bowl, microwave butter on HIGH until melted, about 30 seconds. Stir in dry mustard, garlic powder and cayenne pepper. Drizzle over popcorn mixture and toss well.
