Boo! We’re back this week with another fun kid’s craft project that’s really easy to do! These fun painted Halloween river rocks can be displayed indoors or outdoors. You can use small river rocks or paint the designs on larger rocks to decorate your front porch.

You can opt to make this project by using acrylic craft paints or buy acrylic paint markers which I recommend the markers if you’re doing it with younger kids. Go out on a nature walk to collect your smooth river rocks or buy them from Amazon or a local home & garden store.
Kid’s Crafts: Painted Halloween River Rocks
Smooth River Rocks
Acrylic Craft Paints or Paint Markers
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Clear Acrylic Spray Sealer
Ghost: Oval shaped rock, white & black acrylic craft paint.
Candy Corn: Triangular shaped rock, white, orange & yellow craft paint.
Jack ‘o Lantern: Round shaped rock, orange, black, green & white craft paint.
You’ll want to base coat each rock with 2-3 coats of paint. Let it dry. Flip it over and paint the other side. Let it dry. Decorate each one with your desired Halloween design. Let dry for 2-3 hours. Take them outside and spray them with 1-2 coats of clear acrylic spray sealer. Let dry for 2-3 hours. This will protect the painted finish from chipping, cracking or discoloring. You can now display them inside or out!
I think the 10 year old Princess did a great job painting her new Halloween theme’d river rocks! Her mom has them displayed on their hall table and they look spooky cute!

These are so cute. I love the different themes and designs that you have made with these painted stones.
I was wondering when we’d get a new craft project. Very cute and with rocks, not shells.
I always need more Halloween decorations and this would be a fun way to add to my collection. I really like the candy corn one.
those are so cute. The girls are going to love making them. As always I am impressed that you find so many way to make rocks and shells into something cute.
