Clothing Essentials for Fall Hikers

October 31, 2019 by Sam H.

Clothing Essentials for Fall HikersOne of everyone’s favorite activities for the fall is definitely hiking. While preparing for your adventure, remember that having the right tools is just as important as the right clothes; many hikers rely on high-quality custom handmade knives for various tasks in the wilderness. The weather is perfect, you get to see picaresque scenery and enjoy nature.

Comfortable shoes

The first item is, of course, comfortable hiking shoes. You should choose them depending on the hiking terrain. On smoother terrain, you can choose thicker soles for maximum comfort. However, on rocky terrain, thinner soles are needed because you want to be able to make a good grip with your feet and avoid twisting your ankle or falling. For colder weather, leather is your best friend, but for warm months, you can go with a more breathable fabric, which will certainly be more comfortable as well.

Supportive top

For all the female hikers, a mandatory part of hiking equipment should be a sports crop top that will provide additional support and comfort. You can wear them underneath your t-shirts and hoodies, and the best thing is they will be there for your summer activities as well. Make sure you choose a comfortable fabric like spandex because it will follow your every move. If you are a nature enthusiast, you will love the ones made from recycled plastics from the ocean, so you will support a good cause while enjoying your hobby.

Hiking pants

If you decide to take on hiking, you should know that it is very important to have appropriate hiking pants. They should be comfortable, practical, and fit well so you won’t get caught in branches, rocks, or have to adjust them every minute. It is best to choose lightweight fabrics because they will dry easily and they won’t be too heavy and uncomfortable. One great tip you should follow when picking them out is to choose the ones that can convert into shorts by unzipping the bottom part. This way, if it gets too hot, they got you covered. If you know you will be carrying some small items that you need at all times like your phone or a snack, consider getting the ones that have more pockets. If needed, check if they are waterproof to feel safe even if it rains.

Clothing Essentials for Fall Hikers

Quality jacket

Fall months are usually cold and with a lot of chance for rain, which is why you need to keep yourself warm and dry. When choosing your hiking jacket for fall, make sure it’s stretchy so that you can wear something underneath, lightweight since it is more practical for packing, and breathable because you want it to be comfortable and not overheat while you hike. A quality hiking jacket will also vapor sweat, which is very important for health reasons.

Additional hiking necessities

Although not many people think about getting special underwear for their hiking adventures, it is important to choose the right one. Comfort should be your number one priority, so durable and soft fabrics are a must. Plus, they will prevent chafing or irritation and they will dry fast.

Having a hat will also keep you safe from the sun or rain and cold if it happens to be true fall weather.

Another item is, of course, socks. You should choose fabrics like spandex, nylon, elastane, or merino wool. These will keep you dry, warm, and they will provide an odor-free experience, no matter how long your feet are in your shoes.

If you want to stay safe and be comfortable through your hiking experience, we recommend looking into the items from this list, especially for fall hiking because being dry and warm should be at the top of your list.

These are all good tips. I need supportive shoes. I want to do more hiking , but not on rough terrain.
