Perfect for paper crafters of all levels and ages, the Paper Animals in Action Book by Rob Ives contains 12 unique models that actually move. All you need to add is a clothespin to bring the animal to life. The book is published by Dover Publications, ISBN: 978-0-486-83591.

To get started you’ll cut out the full-color parts and follow the simple assembly directions to build a bird that pecks, a flying pig that flaps its wings, a dog that nods its head, and a T. Rex that opens its jaws. Create a bear, moose and goose as you work your way through the projects in the book, a total of 12 in all.
Supplies that you’ll need:
Scissors
Ruler
Glue
Wooden Clothespins
Paperclips
Each of the easy-to-make projects comes with full-color parts (pieces, color assembly photos and step-by-step directions. My 10 1/2 year old daughter has been working on the paper animals for the past few days and has needed no adult help at all. My 4 year old son has needed a good bit of adult help & supervision. Just giving you a “guide” on appropriate age ranges.
I love books and craft projects like this that don’t take days to make or cost a lot of money. These particular projects help to teach kids fine motor skills, reading, following directions, and helps them explore their creativity. There are 12 projects, so if you have multiple kids in the family, they can each complete a few. Also a great book for small school, church and scouting groups too.
