So, you just received a phone call from your friends and they have let you know that they are coming over in a few minutes. Your house looks clean, but your bathroom is a mess because you just have not made it a priority to give it a thorough cleaning as of late. They might not use the bathroom, but you do not want to take that chance. You thus, decide to clean it up as quickly as you can, but you do not know where to start. Worry not, we have got you covered. Below are a few simple steps that you can follow, which will get your bathroom cleaned without too much of a hassle. With these tips, you will not have to worry about getting questioning looks from your friends once they see your bathroom.
1. Clear the countertop
Clutter always makes a room appear untidy. The first step, therefore, is to clear off your bathroom counter and throw away unwanted items like empty deodorant containers, toothpaste bottles, and old toothbrushes. Put away all the toiletries in their respective cabinets, and throw away any trash that you may have. Also, stack your makeup neatly in a corner, as you tend to use it every day. To help you alleviate such situations, consider investing in makeup organizers. These have come in pretty handy as they allow you to store your makeup in a great order according to all the different types you have. For all you perfectionists out there, that is great news, right? You will never have to struggle in getting the right brush or eye pencil, and best of all, your bathroom counter will be always be looking neat and spotless.
2. Wipe all surfaces
Now that everything has been put away, the next step you need to take it to wipe all visible surfaces. Get a few cleaning pads and some clean spray and begin scrubbing your mirror, the shower doors, if made of glass, and the bathtub. This will get rid of any visible grime or dirt and will ensure that everything is spotless. Scrub all the tiles and the sink as well for any extra shine. Wipe the countertops as well, but leave the floor for last.
3. Scrub the toilet
The next step is to get some toilet cleaner and scrub the toilet. Start by squirting the cleaner all around the toilet bowl so that it gets even beneath the rim. Give it a few minutes, in which you can be wiping other surfaces then scrub away and flush the toilet. You can even spray a bit of air freshener if you like, just to give your bathroom an extra touch of freshness. Wipe the seat as well, in case of any dust or water particles.
4. Last steps
Look around the room one more time to identify any splashes that you have made either to the surfaces or to your mirror. Wipe them with a cloth, then do a general sweep through across the bathroom floor with either a mop or rag. Dust your mats as well, as they tend to collect a lot of dirt.
These are great tips. I think we ll have moments when we have to quickly tidy up a bathroom.
Great tips! The bathroom has the most germs than any other room in the house.
Very good suggestions. I’ll keep them in mind.
Some of us also keep a litter box i the bathroom.I have to add in sweeping up any stray litter and of course cleaning the box out. It is true you do become ‘nose blind’. I have also been to people’s homes who have babies and they may not realize the diaper genie (or whatever they use) is super noticeable!
These are great tips. When my sister comes over, I head for the bathroom first to tidy up. I will keep this in mind.
Sometimes you know things, but it seems so much easier when someone writes it down in steps. Now to go clean the bathroom.
