I’ve always enjoyed sitting down and making my own Halloween crafts and decorations. When it comes to decorating for Halloween…I go with a more generic theme. I don’t decorate with witches, devils and really scary things. I decorate in more of a generic them with a lot of my items being more related to the season than directly to Halloween. To pull my autumn decor into Halloween…I mix in just a few Halloween specific things.

I was at the craft store 3 weeks ago and they had these pre-made, unfinished wood letters on sale 3 for $1.00. They had them last year too and I did a similar project using them. I decided to pick up 3 more and make a super-easy BOO wall hanging with them.
Hand-Painted Halloween BOO Wood Wall Hanging
Unfinished Wood Letters – BOO
18 Gauge Wire
Wire Cutters
Dark Purple Acrylic Paint
Green Acrylic Paint
Orange Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Fine Grade Sandpaper
Clear Acrylic Spray Sealer – Glossy Finish
Drill
My wooden letters were a little rough so I used some sandpaper to smooth them down. You may or may not have to do that. I then had my husband drill 2 holes on the letter B, 2 holes on one of the O’s and just one hole on the remaining letter O. You will need those holes to wire your letters together after being painted.
I painted each of the wooden letters with 2 coats of acrylic craft paint. You can use any colors that you would like. I selected dark purple, dark green and orange. Let them dry, flip them over and paint the other side with 2 coats of paint. Let dry.
Take them outside and spray each side with 1-2 coats of clear acrylic sealer. You will need to let each letter thoroughly dry before proceeding.
Bring them back inside. Use wire cutters to cut the wire in 3″ to 4″ lengths depending on the size that you specific need. Wire your letters together. At the top you’ll want to use the wire to make a hanging loop. You can hang them up inside or outside!

This decoration looks nice and it is easy to make. You come up with great ideas.
That’s an easy, good looking decoration. I’ll have to look for letters.
This is cute and one I would love to do for the fall season. We are just now decorating the house for the season.
