Tips on How to Relieve Foot Pain

Tips on How to Relieve Foot PainFoot pain is something that I developed as I aged. It first started in my twenties when I wore high-heels to work every day of the week. In my thirties I ended up with foot surgery to help correct hammer toes and to get rid of heal spurs. As I’ve aged over the years…the foot pain has continued.

Next month I’m turning 70 years old and the pain continues to get worse. Over the years I’ve learned that there are some things that I can do at home to help reduce the pain.

Tips on How to Relieve Foot Pain

– Foot massages.
– Elevate legs while at home.
– Soak feet in warm water with Epsom Salts.
– Wear footwear with memory foam insoles.
– Acupuncture to relieve pain and increase blood flow.
– Wear orthopedic-correct footwear.
– Foot and leg exercises with stretching.
– Limit standing and walking time on bad pain days.
– Obtain proper rest and sleep at night.
– Maintain a healthy weight.
– Apply over-the-counter pain relief cream.
– Heat and/or ice therapy and properly apply kinesiology tape for better muscle support and pain relief.

I use all of these methods to help relieve foot pain. There are times that one method works better than another. Try a few of them to see what works best with your type of pain and if you get no relief…it may be time to see your doctor.
