This entire book is made up of a series of short paragraphs, each one a separate tip for organizing, arranging, streamlining, and storing everything you own and/or do. The book itself is divided into three main parts, as follows:

All Around the House: The chapters in this section are defined by physical areas, e.g., kitchen, playroom, bedrooms, and garage.
Entertaining: This part revolves around events, e.g., parties, hosting house guests, and holidays.
On the Move: The final chapters are about preparing for and staying organized outside the home, e.g., vacations, business trips, and moving to a new home.

10-Minute Tidy Home Book

The target audience for 10-Minute Tidy Home seems to be a young family with children who own their own home, since many of the ideas relate to kids and their clutter or involve making permanent physical changes such as installing shelves. But even if you fall outside of that demographic, you’re still likely to find many helpful ideas you can use to make your life easier and more organized.

In the introduction, the author says “Everything has a place, and it’s up to you to find it!” I’ve found myself thinking about that statement a lot as I go through my own home, and I’ve realized that I can indeed eliminate a lot of clutter and maintain a tidier and more pleasing environment simply by making sure that things are put where they belong. Sometimes that involves creating spaces for things or reorganizing storage areas, but I’m learning that putting thought into where things go can pay off in the long run. The author relies heavily on sorting and rearranging objects and keeping like things together, often in containers of different kinds, such as totes, baskets, bins, and boxes, as well as utilizing behind-closed-doors spaces like pantries, closets, and the garage.

10-Minute Tidy Home Book

All in all, the ideas in 10-Minute Tidy Home may not be Earth-shattering, but if you spend some time with this fun little book, you’re sure to come away with some valuable tips and a new appreciation for achieving and maintaining organization in your surroundings and in your life.

This book is part of a series of “10-Minute” books from Fair Winds Press (an imprint of the Quarto Group). In fact, we’ll be featuring another “10-Minute” book soon! In the meantime, you can keep up with all of the updates and new releases from Quarto by visiting them on Facebook.

Everyone is so concerned with tidiness these days, lol. I’m not, really. I want things functional but I’m not much on tidiness, lol.

This sounds like a great book! We just moved a few months ago and I could use this to get organized. I did use the Marie Kondo method on a few drawers and it does help.

I bet this is a great idea book. I really need the ideas too. I do not have a place for everything. I make piles. i know where the pile is but it is not a good look for counters and desk tops.
