How many of you enjoy drinking the occasional glass of wine? For those who do, what kind do you enjoy drinking? My husband and I enjoy all kinds of different but are particularly fond of white or dessert wines.

A few years ago we started visiting some of the local wineries around our state and got involve in wine tasting events. Its a great way to get out there and socialize with others and more importantly…try out some of your local wines! You would be really surprised at how well the majority of them taste compared to those “famous brands” that cost you an arm & a leg.
When we take road trips we like to search out wineries that we may pass along the way or ones that are near our final destination. Sometimes we go just for the wine. Sometimes we go for the wine and entertainment and sometimes we’ll go for the wine and expertly prepared meal.
Wine tastings are big business all over the world and its a business that continues to grow in popularity. Those wineries offer all kinds of different things to get you in the door. Plus, you can get nice discounts on what you’re purchasing while you’re there (cheaper than buying in a retail store or restaurant). Heck, a lot of businesses around here will allow you to B.Y.O.B. when dining at their establishment, so its nice to bring your own bottle along.
My question today is this…How many of you enjoy going out to wine tastings, events and/or winery tours? Do you have a favorite winery that you like to visit? What kind of wine do you enjoy drinking?

I do enjoy wine on occasion. I used to go to some on Long Island, NY and I would like to go to more wine tastings in upstate NY
When I lived in Germany (many, many years ago) I enjoyed going to wine tastings and dinners and such. I like the Mosel wines.
I’ve never been to a wine tasting or winery tour, but it sounds fun. I think it would make me feel more sophisticated, lol.
We like red wines mostly but a nice crisp white is great for these summer days. We have loads of wineries in our area and one of the biggest has concerts all summer long. Fun to enjoy a summer evening with friends and music.
I have never been to one but I do enjoy wine occasionally. Just last night on the local news I saw a local grape farm where we live offers tours and tastings as well as a store.
