Over the past 2 1/2 years I’ve shared over 70+ painted seashell craft projects with all of you here on the blog. Well guess what? I’m back again today with another one! This one is really easy-to-do and you’ll only need a few craft supplies to make them. I made this set for a friend of mine who works at a local zoo and loves the big cats! Matter of fact, she decorates her master bedroom in a Safari theme, so I knew they would be perfect for her!
If you enjoy painting on seashells or crafting with seashells…you’ll find over 70+ seashell craft projects right here on the Two Classy Chics blog! We will be sharing more seashell craft projects in the future too!

If you don’t have access to large clam seashells (we used clam shells that each measure 5″ in width) you could make these by painting the designs onto smooth river rocks. We did a tiger stripe pattern…one with an orange background and one with a white background.
Craft Project: Painted Animal Print Seashells
Large Clam Seashells
Acrylic Craft Paint: Orange, White and Black
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Black Fine-Tip Sharpie Marker
Clear Acrylic Spray Sealer, Glossy Finish
You will want to base coat each clam shell with 2 coats of acrylic craft paint and let thoroughly dry. Use the black fine-tip Sharpie Marker to “lightly” sketch out your animal “stripe” pattern on your seashell. I found it easier to sketch it out when it came to actually painting on my stripes. Let the marker dry for 5 minutes before proceeding.
Use the black acrylic craft paint and a fine-tip paint brush to paint on your animal stripes, covering over the marker stripes. You will want to make some that are thicker than others and in odd shapes, sizes and lengths. Just like the pattern you would see on a real-life tiger. Let dry for 60-70 minutes or until no longer tacky.
Lay some newspaper down outside (or an old plastic placemat) and lay your painted seashells on top. Lightly spray them with the Mod Podge Clear Spray Sealer. If you’re going to display them outside I recommend 2 coats, if you’re going to display them inside 1 coat will be enough. Let dry. That’s it, you’re done!

This is a very cute craft to make. I would call it animal markings rater than prints because at first I thought you were going to make paw prints!
These are so cute! I figured you have made more than 70 also!
What? Only 70? Seems to me like you’ve done hundreds. A never ending supply of fun crafts.
I do like this craft Craft Project: Painted Animal Print Seashells. It would be relaxing for me to create and paint shells. My daughter would love it also.
