Before buying a razor, women consider the outcome. Whether you shave frequently or seasonally, the razor aisle can be overwhelming. There are several brands of bright-colored shavers all promising a smooth finish. Choosing one brand over another can be tricky, especially when they all promise the same result. Safety razors are much more than the outcome. If you are wondering how much more you get from safety razors, click here.
Safety razors are great for the environment
There are many disposable razors in the market. Cartridge razors have several replaceable plastic parts that are not recyclable. Considering how often many women shave, this is a significant amount of plastic that finds its way in the environment. Safety razors do not affect the environment as much because you buy them once, and they can be used many times. This way, you can shave as often as you would like without feeling guilty about contributing to the plastic waste harming the planet.
They will save you money
Safety razors can last a lifetime. It is easier to budget for a safety razor when compared to cartridge razors since you need not worry about replacing it regularly. If you are a frequent shaver, you will save quite a bit by investing in a safety razor instead of disposables.
Reduced possibility of ingrown hairs
Unfortunately, some of the razors do not shave as well as you would like. They leave ingrown hair that can sometimes be painful and unsightly. If you keep getting red bumps that look like little pimples every time you shave, it may be time to switch to a safety razor. The safety razor only uses one blade, so the possibility of pulling hair reduces.
Blades of varying sharpness
If you worry about using razors because the blades are too sharp, the safety razor gives you the option of choosing blades you are most comfortable with. Besides the ability to mix a range of blades, you can also use different shaving soaps and creams based on your preference. The options available to you make it easy for you to come up with a combination of shaving items that suit you. Remember to change your blades as soon as you realize the cut is not as smooth as it once was.
Can be used on different parts of the body
If you are looking for a razor, you can comfortably use to shave your legs, bikini area, and armpits, the safety razor is an excellent choice. You need not worry about the ease with which you get to shave these areas. The handle of the safety razor is heavy enough to allow for a smooth glide when shaving.
Some of the safety razors in the market are adjustable. This type of razors will make it possible for you to adjust the angle of the blade to suit the area you are shaving. If you are worried about cuts, it is best to stick to lower size settings until you are confident about your shaving skills.
I always use a safety razor because I do not want to be nicked and cut up. I never thought about the different ways to adjust it for different body parts.
I have not considered the impact of disposable razors on the environment and this makes me think of switching plus the ease and comfort that goes along with a safety razor.
I have cut myself in twice in the past couple of months so I so appreciate this post. I am SO going to buy a safety razor and soon. I will start off on the high settings until I feel comfortable with it thanks for sharing that tip.
I’m so glad I don’t have to shave any more. Being 70 years old had its advantages.
I once tried using my grandma’s razor, which was seriously old-style, probably from the 50’s, and it was a disaster. Blood everywhere, including on my legs. I always use a safety razor.
One thing I could never use is cheapo dollar store type of razors. Every time I’ve tried one I’ve cut myself up to heck and back. Terrible plus shaving burns. I now use more expensive razors and haven’t been cut in over 10 years.
