250 Best Meals in a Mug Cookbook by Camilla Saulsbury

I love cookbooks and have 450+ in my collection. Some of my most prized ones date back to the 1950’s but the ones I use the most are modern day. With that said, I am all about cookbooks that utilize every day ingredients and feature easy-to-prepare recipes.

Recently I had the pleasure of adding this cookbook to my collection. It is called “250 Best Meals in a Mug” by author Camilla V. Saulsbury. It is published by Robert Rose with the ISBN: 9780778804741.

Synopsis: Whether you’re dining solo or you’re pressed for time, meals in a mug are the perfect solution. If you’re living in a dorm, traveling in an RV or eating at the office, they offer a convenient and budget-friendly way to eat delicious and healthy meals.

These individual-portion-sized recipes will take you through morning breakfast to late-afternoon snacks to satisfying suppers with just a quick trip to the microwave, omitting hours of stovetop simmering or baking.

Camilla has stripped away all the time-consuming steps, as well as the artificial ingredients found in boxed meals. Most of these recipes can be created from scratch in less time than it takes to defrost a processed store-bought meal. For example, in just 2 minutes, breakfast gets a boost with a delicious homemade muffin.

My Thoughts: Wow, where do I start with this one! After reading this cookbook cover-to-cover I now realize that there are a ton of things I can make in my microwave and do so quickly! During the daytime I am home (I work from home) so it is just me having lunch…instead of eating leftovers or cooking a large portion for myself, I can now enjoy delicious meals within minutes thanks to the recipes with Camilla’s cookbook.

All of the recipes are very easy to prepare and they are made with every day ingredients you can find in any decent grocery store. Often times, they are staples you already have in your home. I love that everything is explained step-by-step and many of the recipes include a color photograph along with tips & tricks.

I have been making several of the recipes featured in this cookbook and have LOVED all of the ones I have tried. Matter of fact, when we go back and forth to the beach house, I will be taking this one with me as we love simple & quick meals while we are vacationing. Perfect recipes for the traveler!

You can find this book and hundreds of others over at Robert Rose so make sure you head on over there and take a look around.
