I’m a big fan of white chocolate and prefer it over dark, milk and semi-sweet varieties. I also think that using white chocolate in your recipes is the most versatile. Because it tends to be sweeter, I can often cut down additional sugar when its used in a recipe. My taste buds just prefer it.

White Chocolate Popcorn Crunch Recipe
5 cups popped popcorn
1/2 cup dried sweetened cranberries
1/2 cup sliced almonds
12 ounces white chocolate baking chips, chopped white chocolate or white candy coating
1-2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
Over a baking pan with foil or wax paper; set aside. Place popcorn, cranberries and almonds in a large bowl; set aside.
Melt chocolate in a double boiler over barely simmering water, stirring until smooth OR melt according to package directions. (If chocolate is not smooth after melting, , stir in 1-2 tablespoons shortening until mixture is smooth and loose enough to coat popcorn.)
Pour chocolate mixture over popcorn mixture and stir to coat. Spread onto prepared pan; allow to cool completely. When chocolate is cooled and set, break into chunks for serving. Store in an air-tight container at room temperature.

I think that this combination of popcorn with white chocolate and cranberries would be delicious. I might add some pecans as well as the almonds.
What a nice treat! I normally am not a chocolate lover but would make an exception. This would make for a nice little gift too.
I love doing this. I have so many food allergies that this is my go to treat of the day without the almonds. Thank you for reminding me to make some for tonight.
I have never had this recipe before and now I sure would love to try it. I would love to make this for a friend’s upcoming birthday thank you for sharing it.
