For once, I’m reviewing an item that I have not used, and if I’m lucky, I’ll never need to use it. It’s a personal alarm, and a cute one at that, called the Ahh!-larm from Blingsting. Although I hope I’m never in a situation where I’ll need to sound the alarm, I feel better just knowing that I now have the ability to attract attention and get help if I need it.

As women, we are vulnerable and it’s our responsibility to do everything we can to ensure our own safety. Awareness of our surroundings is a skill we must develop, along with safe habits such as parking our cars in well-lit areas and not walking or running alone in dark or isolated areas. It even clips onto my dog’s leash if we’re just going for a walk. The super-sparkly alarm unit has buttons on both the back and the front to activate the alarm, ensuring that you don’t need to fumble around in an emergency. I tried both buttons to test it out, and believe me when I tell you that it is loud! In fact, it clocks in at an earsplitting 115 decibels, with a piercing alarm that is sure to draw attention and scare off an attacker. The Ahh!-larm also features a built-in LED light and is TSA-compliant.
Speaking of drawing attention, the Ahh!-larm would make a great gift for older women who might worry about how to signal for help if they suffer a medical emergency. With the ability to sound an alarm at the touch of a button, having an Ahh!-larm clipped to her purse will give any woman peace of mind.

This is such a pretty alarm, Any girl or woman would like to carry it. I also appreciate that it is not an obvious alarm.
I like how this isn’t a really ‘obvious’ alarm. I have had a few alarms of this type and they arent nearly as pretty, I could see this on a backpack, or even clipped to a belt or whatever type of music device you use while walking. These do come in handy and would be a good deterrent.
