My 10 year old granddaughter and I get together twice a month for craft dates. Like her Nanny (me) she loves to craft and will dabble all kinds of different things. We’ve been holding these craft dates together for the past 7 years and we’re always looking for new projects to make.

Let me introduce you to Make in a Day: Crafts for Kids book by author Cintia Gonzalez-Pell and from Dover Publications. ISBN: 9780486813738. This soft-cover how-to book contains 15 fast and fun projects.
These colorful and easy projects for kids can be made in a single day! Suitable for ages 7 to 12, with the help of an adult, the crafts will appeal to boys and girls alike. Projects include a dreamcatcher, painted plant pot, leather treasure pouch, and felt pennant flag. Children can also learn how to paint their pillowcases, personalize their sneakers, recycle a sweater into a gadget cozy, and make other decorative and practical items.
Each book in Dover’s Make in a Day series presents 15 projects with illustrated step-by-step instructions. The beginner-friendly projects are ideal for anyone wishing to whip up something simple but special. Supplies are easy to obtain and readily available at major craft stores.
The Princess and I sat down to look through the book together and fell in-love with just about every featured project! Matter of fact, we plan on making 12 out of 15 of the projects over the summer while she’s off school. Each project includes a material’s list, easy-to-follow instructions and color photos to help guide you along the way.
One of the BEST things about these projects is that none of them require expensive materials and all materials are readily available. If you’re a crafter, you probably have most of the supplies already on hand. The Princess wants to make the Fuse Bead Bag Charms and Paint a Pillowcase projects first. Trust me, both are adorable!!!
As a crafting fan…I really hope to see more from Cintia Gonzalez-Pell in the near future. She’s talented, creative and I know these projects are going to be a big hit over the summer!
