Bucket-List European Vacation Spots

May 3, 2019 by Sam H.

Bucket-List European Vacation SpotsWhen it comes to a European trip, you want to get as much bang for your vacationing buck as possible. There is no end to amazing locations to visit, so how do you pick the best one for you? From beaches to mountain glaciers, castles to art museums, cathedrals to palaces, Europe has it all. Here are four vacation spots that are guaranteed to satisfy.

Santorini, Greece

Located a short flight from Greece’s capital city of Athens, Santorini is an island paradise. Surrounded by the sapphire-blue waters of the Aegean Sea, you’ll step off your plane and into a postcard. Santorini is dotted with beautiful black sand beaches for those who love the water. Closer to town, you’ll see amazing homes perched precariously on the sides of cliffs. The most iconic feature of Santorini is the architecture. Throughout town, you will see white-washed buildings capped with cobalt-blue domes. To get the most out of your trip, consult a tour company like https://www.kensingtontours.com/tours/europe.

Slovenia

If you’re looking for the road less traveled, consider visiting Slovenia. This country is located right in the middle of Europe, sandwiched between Austria, Italy and Croatia. This is one of the best European locations you can visit if you love the outdoors. In Slovenia, you can find mountain peaks, vineyards, alpine lakes, fields of wildflowers and even medieval castles. This is a great vacation spot for those who wish to get back to nature and avoid the crowds.

Lucerne, Switzerland

For fans of fairy tells, there’s no place better to visit than Lucerne, Switzerland. Lucerne sits on the shore of Lake Lucerne and at the base of the Swiss Alps. While in town, be sure to visit Europe’s oldest covered bridge. Kapelbrücke was built in the 1300s and crosses the River Reuss. It is an iconic feature of Lucerne. For those more adventurous, head up the mountain for hiking, skiing and other outdoor adventures.

London, United Kingdom

The United Kingdom still stands as one of the best places to visit on a European vacation, and London is its heart. While expensive, London boasts a myriad of epic sights to see. Walk through the British Museum, tour the Tower of London, visit Buckingham Palace, get a picture outside of Big Ben or take a ride on the London Eye. While a bustling city, London still has a lot of historical and noteworthy sights to enthrall every visitor.

If you’re planning your European vacation, there are dozens if not hundreds of places you can visit. To find the perfect vacation spot, try one of these four suggestions. You won’t be disappointed.
