Easy Buffalo Chicken Wings Recipe

My husband and I love to cook and often spend time in the kitchen trying out new recipes. While we both enjoy cooking, we don’t like recipes that take hours to prepare or ones that call for ingredients that we’ve never heard of. We’re all about quick, easy-to-prepare and delicious recipes for REAL home cooks!

Last month he brought home a handwritten recipe from one of the girls in his office. We enjoy eating chicken wings and often make them at home. We decided to try out her recipe and we’re pleasantly surprise at how delicious these wings were and how easy they were to make! For the hot pepper sauce…we used our favorite Frank’s Hot Sauce but you can use whatever brand that you prefer. If you don’t own a deep fryer, feel free to fry them in a large kettle on your stove-top. Just make sure you use enough vegetable oil and bring it to the correct temperature before adding the wings.

Easy Buffalo Chicken Wings Recipe

12 Skin-On Chicken Wings (bone-in)
3/4 All-Purpose Flour
2 Teaspoons Salt
2 Teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
3/4 Cup Hot Pepper Sauce
1 Tablespoon Butter (not margarine)
1 Quart Bottle of Vegetable Oil
1 Gallon-Size Freezer Zipper-Close Storage Bag

Rinse chicken wings with cool tap water, drain and then pat dry with paper towels. Set aside.

In the large freezer bag combine together the all-purpose flour, salt, ground black pepper, red pepper flakes and the garlic powder. Just shake the ingredients all together in the bag.

Preheat your deep fryer with a setting of 375 degrees F. Use the liquid vegetable oil for deep-frying.

Place chicken wings in the freezer bag, seal bag and shake the bag around to evenly coat all of the wings.

Using tongs place the seasoned chicken wings into the hot oil. You will want to be careful to not splash the hot oil out of the fryer. Fry the wings for 7-9 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink and the skin has started to turn crispy. Use clean tongs to remove them from the fryer. Set aside.

In a medium-size saucepan melt the butter and add the hot sauce. Stir to combine the two ingredients together. Heat over medium heat for 3-5 minutes or until hot…but not raging boil. Remove pan from heat.

Place the wings into a large bowl. Pour the hot sauce over the top of the wings. Use the tongs to coat all of the wings in the sauce. Serve immediately.
