Jenelle’s Thoughts: I sat down with my daughter last weekend and we looked through the entire book. I had never heard of Chibi until we received the book for this review. I have to admit, these characters are adorable!!! There are 19 chibi tutorials inside the book along with inspiration galleries, blank body bases and uncolored chibis for practicing coloring and shading.

The how-to book is comprehensive and covers everything that you need to know for this art form. Even at the age of 10, my daughter is able to easily read the book and follow the how-to instructions. Along with the step-by-step instructions you’re given a list of materials that are needed. In addition to the characters, you’ll learn how to draw their clothing and accessories too.

Princess has been practicing and is getting better every day. I’m going to take her out to the art store next week and get her some decent art supplies, so that she can make a serious attempt to create her own chibi characters. What a fun book to give or receive!
