I love the beach and one of my favorite places to visit is North Wildwood in New Jersey. My husband and I first visited this beach back in September 2000 and have been going down a few times a year ever since. When my husband retires in 7 years, we’re hoping to move down there on a full-time basis.
New Jersey is known as having some of the prettiest beaches in the northeast & in the mid-Atlantic region. With that said…I think North Wildwood is the prettiest of them all. All of the beaches on the Wildwoods island are free to visit. In other words, you don’t have to buy a beach tag to visit them.
Every time we’re down there we take walks up and down the beach at least once every day, usually twice on good weather days. The white sand is just beautiful and I love how it feels between my toes! These beaches are well-maintained and extremely clean.
If you’re into shelling and enjoy collecting seashells…you’ll want to head up to the beach that’s located directly behind the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse. This is where I go to find a lot of the seashells that I collect and feature here on the blog. If you’re not finding what you’re looking for on the beach, go wading through the low-tide pools and I’m sure you’ll find a few beautiful treasures.
For those of who enjoy birding…you’ll find a lot of beautiful shore birds hanging around the Hereford Inlet area, in the lighthouse gardens (behind the lighthouse) and along the seawall areas. We often see birdwatchers in this area documenting the birds that they see.
The photographs that I’m sharing with you today are the ones that I personally took during my most recent walk on the North Wildwood beach. As you can see, it’s a beautiful area and I feel “at peace” when I’m on the beach. My stress level diminishes and the relaxation set’s in within minutes. I just love this place!!!
This looks like a beautiful beach. I would love to walk on the sand there and collect shells.
This place looks so beautiful and peaceful. I so love the ocean it just healing. Thanks for sharing these amazing pictures.
That beach does look gorgeous. I’m glad the weather is finally warming up and it’s time to head back to the beaches.
What a beautiful and serene looking beach. I like visiting the beach at less busy times than in the summer. We like seeing the lighthouses too.
Looks like a beautiful place. Too bad I’m 2,000 miles away.
