Is an Artificial Christmas Tree Right for Your Holiday?

April 27, 2019 by Sam H.

Although many people still tend to think of artificial Christmas trees as newfangled alternatives to the traditional trees they grew up with, they’re actually anything but. Artificial Christmas trees have been around in some way, shape, or form ever since the 1930’s. However, they’ve come a very long way since then. Many of today’s trees are stunningly beautiful and can be almost indistinguishable from a natural tree. Plus, they’re a lot more convenient, especially when it comes to maintenance and care, but are they right for your celebration?

No More Lots

Although everyone loves the idea of putting up their Christmas tree and admiring the lights while they get excited about the upcoming holiday, almost no one really likes the experience of visiting the tree lot. It’s crowded and noisy. The process of haggling over prices isn’t something many people enjoy, especially if they wind up feeling like they overpaid or had to settle for a tree they weren’t as excited about. Plus, there’s the hassle and work of actually getting the tree all the way home, into the house, and set up where it belongs.

If the experience of visiting the tree lot fills you with dread, an artificial tree is definitely something you might want to consider. Instead of driving to a lot to bring your tree home, you can order gorgeous artificial trees from brands like Balsam Hill online and have them shipped straight to your door. (Check out Balsam Hill reviews for more information on the pros and cons of their offerings in particular.) Best of all, you won’t have to toss your tree out with the trash once Christmas is over. Instead, you can simply pack it away in anticipation for next year.

Stunning Good Looks

If you’ve always been hesitant to try an artificial tree because you figure there’s no way it could look as good as a natural tree, you’re not alone. Many people are afraid of the same exact thing, but they also aren’t aware of how far faux trees have come since the last time they laid eyes on one in person. Today’s artificial tree manufacturers have perfected the fine art of crafting stunning, beautiful trees that are nothing short of flawless. Think full branches that can be adjusted to look just so and thousands of realistic needles that you won’t have to vacuum up out of your carpet eventually!

If you like, you can say good-bye to the hassle of dealing with tangled strings of Christmas lights as well. Many of today’s best artificial trees come with hundreds of beautiful hand-strung Christmas lights already in place. That means yours will be lit, prepped, and completely ready to be decorated with your favorite ornaments right out of the box. How’s that for a time (and sanity) saver?

No More Safety Worries

Natural Christmas trees can be many things, but they’re not what you’d call safe. Once your tree begins to dry out, it instantly becomes a fire hazard just waiting to cause trouble. All it takes is an overlooked frayed wire or a Christmas candle that was left lit a little to close to the tree. Plus, natural trees bring loads of allergens, dirt, and possible bugs into your home, which doesn’t necessarily make for a very merry Christmas if you have sensitive guests or children. If those are concerns for you, an artificial tree might be a good fit. It’s an environmentally friendly choice as well.

In other words, there are lots of reasons why you might want to make the switch to a clean, safe, practical artificial tree this year. How would going artificial make Christmas easier for your family?
