1. Choose the location of the wedding – First and foremost, you need to choose the location. It can be anywhere, but how about making it more meaningful? This is important especially if you are planning an outdoor wedding. it would be unfortunate that you planned the perfect wedding, only for it to rain on the day. Make sure to also choose a good accommodation for your guests. Consider the budget and the distance from where the wedding will take place. You should make sure that you have enough accommodations for all your guests before you send out the invite.
3. Inform your guests – Since this is a destination wedding, make sure to inform your guests as early as possible. They will need to arrange flights, accommodation and even take a leave from their work. Some couples even tell their guests as early as 8-9 months before their wedding. Instead of the wedding invitation, you can send a simple save the date card to inform them of the date and destination.
4. Be sure to visit the place – If you have the budget, it would be better to see the place before the actual wedding. You want to make sure that everything is as advertised and that there will be no surprises on the day of the event.
5. Hire a wedding planner to help you – If you are spreading yourself too thin, it would be better to hire a coordinator. Book one who is used to planning a destination wedding. They may even have contacts in that country and you can get discounts for your special day.
