I love paper crafting…especially scrapbooking and cardmaking. With that said, I’ve been dabbling a little bit into the world of Origami over the past few months and have learned a lot. One of the best things about Origami is that its an affordable crafting medium and anyone can learn it.

If you want to learn this beautiful crafting medium I recommend the book titled Kawaii Origami by author & paper Kawaii expert Chrissy Pushkin. ISBN: 9781631065903.
Book Synopsis: Kawaii Origami has everything you need to make your very own Kawaii origami creations, from an origami ice cream cone to an origami cat, all in one pack! This book includes 50 sheets of adorable origami paper and 25 Kawaii-style origami projects with step-by-step instructions.
With a tutorial on basic folds, 25 easy-to-follow & illustrated projects, and 50 colorful papers to get you started, you’ll be creating stunning and unique origami pieces like a pro in no time, like a traditional bento box, a shimmering twinkle star, a mini drawer to stash your stuff, and an origami trash bin, which received 3 million YouTube views alone.
My Thoughts: I have a 10 year old granddaughter who enjoys making arts & crafts with me. We get together a few times every month and work on different projects, many of which we share right here on the Two Classy Chics blog. A few months ago we started to learning origami and have been working on a paper-folding skills every since. So far we’ve ONLY completed a few basic projects that we’ve turned around and used in other projects…like decorating our scrapbooking layouts, to embellish homemade greeting cards, etc.
The Kawaii Origami book is one of the easiest to learn from books that I’ve seen so far. The author does a great job at teaching you the basics and then providing easy-to-make projects so that you can practice your new skills and create some adorable origami projects. One of the things I really appreciate is that they include 50 sheets of origami paper along with the book. Yes, origami paper is different than printer paper, construction paper, etc. I really recommend that you only use papers that are specifically made for this crafting medium. They’re easier to fold and to work with.
If you’re looking to learn origami or just want to make some new projects with the skills you already have…Kawaii Origami is the perfect book for you!!!
