3 Types of Lasers for Cosmetic Treatment

March 31, 2019 by Sam H.

3 Types of Lasers for Cosmetic TreatmentLaser treatment is one of the most popular cosmetic treatment techniques. For instance, when it comes to skin treatment, most celebrities find laser treatment to be a very pleasant technique. That’s because it has proven to work on the skin quite effectively. It works by focusing a high-intensity light beam on skin blemishes. In spite of its popularity, especially in celebrity circles, many avoid it thinking that it’s too expensive. However, that is not the case at all. There are a few hacks that one can use and get good laser treatment on a budget. For instance, you can go for used laser equipment. A company like The Laser Warehouse supplies good quality lasers for cosmetic treatments at affordable prices. Other than the price, it is important to understand that there are different types of lasers out there, suitable for diverse skin issues. To help you get the best for your skin, let’s go through 3 types of lasers for cosmetic treatments.

1. The Carbon Dioxide Laser

While it has been largely replaced by newer models due to its side effects, it is still used due to its effectiveness in treating certain skin conditions. For instance, it is very effective in treating deep wrinkles, saggy skin, sunburn, scarring warts among others. These are conditions that lots of people struggle with, and in some cases, can lead to low self-esteem. This makes carbon dioxide laser treatment one of the best that people seeking better-looking skin should try out. Besides, most of the side effects that come with this form of laser treatment are easy to deal with. For instance, after undergoing this treatment, you may experience skin redness for a while. That’s a small price to pay in order to get nice looking skin.

2. The Erbium Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet Laser

This is more advanced than Carbon Dioxide Laser treatment. That’s because it works on all the skin issues that the carbon dioxide laser handles, albeit with fewer side effects. Some of the conditions that can be treated with this laser include acne and wrinkles, and it does this without redness or leaving a burning sensation. Nonetheless, it has a few side effects, the most notable one being bruising. However, these heal in a week or less, which makes them manageable.

3. The Pulsed Dye Laser

This is a non-ablative laser treatment that is much more effective than Carbon dioxide and Erbium Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet Lasers. It focuses on the blood vessels, and works by shrinking them. This restores the skin without the negative side effects of ablative lasers such as the carbon dioxide laser. It’s one of the most comfortable laser treatments out there. When going through it, the process feels like the snap of a rubber band. Besides this, it has a number of other advantages including a fast healing process. After undergoing a pulsed dye laser treatment, one can go back to their normal activities in a few hours. However, it has its side effects too, but they are minor. Some of them include pigmentation and bruising, but they disappear within hours.
