Every year I look forward to putting together 5 Easter baskets for the kids in our family. I make 2 large baskets for my children and 3 additional baskets for my nieces and nephews. Every year I fill the baskets with candy, fruits, toys, games and DVDs. This year is no exception.

Every year I buy a few boxes of Welch’s Fruit Snacks and split up the individually wrapped snack packs between the baskets. Welch’s Fruit Snacks contain vitamins A, E, and C. They’re fat-free, gluten-free and contain no preservatives. One of the best things about them is that they are made with real fruit! Each pouch (serving) contains only 80 calories. The kids love the Fruit Punch and Mixed Fruit flavors.
The Welch’s Fruit Rolls are an excellent source of Vitamins A, E and Vitamin C. They’re gluten-free, peanut-free and preservative-free. They’re made with real fruit and each roll contains only 70 calories. The new Berry flavor is a combination of strawberry, blueberry and raspberry flavors. Gotta love that all of the rolls are individually packaged, so you can split them up in the baskets.
Tired of the same old, same old Easter basket? Here’s some ideas on what you can use instead of the basket!
Sand Bucket
Medium to Large Easter Gift Bag
Dump Truck (Boy)
Large Colorful Plastic Bowls
Decorated Photo Storage Boxes
Character Pillowcases Tied with a Bow
Medium to Large Plastic Flower Pot
Decorated Cardboard Box
Insulated Lunch Tote
Canvas Tote Bag
If you want to get the kids in on the action…give them an empty cardboard box to decorate. On Easter Eve they can put their decorated box out on display, so that the Easter Bunny can fill it while they sleep.

I always appreciate more ideas for Easter baskets. I don’t want to just give candy.
They make such cute lunch totes nowadays. It would be a cute start for a basket.
I think it is so sweet that you make baskets for your nieces and nephews as well….so very thoughtful of you! As a child, I would always look forward to Easter morning to see what the Easter Bunny had left in my basket for me. YOur suggestions are really good ones.
Happy Easter!
This is so funny we just purchased Welch’s mixed fruit snacks like a week ago for the first time and now I am addicted to them. I never thought about putting them in Easter baskets thanks for the great idea.
I like the idea of the character pillow cases. I think those would be fun and different. I will definitely have to find a Batman one for my grandson.
I love these ideas. I am not a fan of pre made Easter baskets at all.
I taught Jenelle well. Neither one of us are fans of pre-filled Easter baskets, Christmas stockings, etc. Each child is an individual and by filling them yourself…you can give each child unique things that they like. I’m working on Prince and Princess’ Easter baskets this weekend.
I really like these ideas. I like the Welchs candies too. I want some for myself.
