I’m a big fan of popcorn and have loved snacking on it all of my life. I’m also a big fan of a good homemade chili. If you’re a fan too, you’re going to enjoy this easy-to-make recipe that is courtesy of Popcorn.org. It will yield approximately 4 cups. Not interested in using the popcorn to top off a bowl of homemade chili? Don’t worry, you can snack on it too! A completely new twist on your favorite recipe and fun to try!

4 cups air-popped popcorn
Butter or original flavor cooking spray
1/4 teaspoon parsley flakes
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon Cajun Creole seasoning or chili powder

Place popcorn in a large, clean paper bag. Spray popcorn lightly with cooking spray, about 5 quick sprays. Sprinkle parsley, thyme, basil, oregano and Cajun Creole seasoning onto popcorn. Close bag and shake to distribute seasoning. Sprinkle on chili or soup at serving time.

I have never thought to place popcorn on top of a soup. but why not.? It would taste just as good as croutons, if not better.

That would be pretty tasty. I’ve used popcorn on tomato soup, but it would be great like this on chili.

I think I would like these spices on popcorn. But I think I would eat it as a snack. I have to have my cornbread with my chili!

I’m not sure I’d use it on the chili. I am sure that I would eat it all up.

I like the popcorn recipe but don’t think I would put it on chili. Looks like it would make a tasty snack all on its own.
