How many of you are fans of food trucks? When I was a child back in the 70’s and early 80’s I would see them at local carnivals, festivals and fairs. Fast forward several decades and now you see them just about everywhere!
Here in Pennsylvania they’ve become a very hot and trendy thing over the past 3 years. You’ll see them at concert venues, sporting events, church events, holiday parades, hometown carnivals, county fairs and you’ll see them lined up in the parking lots at some of our local shopping malls!
Years ago you would mostly get crappy and greasy food at these “portable” restaurants on wheels, but these days you can actually get some gourmet food! Seriously, we’ve gotten food over the last year or so that was so good that you would of sworn it was prepared in a high-end, gourmet restaurant!
We have a few favorites that we particularly like (I won’t call them out by company name), but I will tell you that some of them offer-up great barbecue chicken wings, pulled pork sandwiches, gourmet-style soft pretzels, homemade ice creams and of course…yummy sno-cones!
So…let’s hear it! Do you enjoy getting goodies from Food Trucks? If so, got any favorites?

I am aware that some food trucks have great food. The problem is knowing which ones are the best.
We have had some outstanding food from local food trucks. Great place to get a good and quick lunch for me.
I kind of like them, I guess, haha 😉 I think they can sometimes serve odd food.
I only see them at the fair and I don’t go to the fair very much. I did like the foods we got. Now that they are better and available for people working downtown, I think it is great for all. They get a variety of food available to them and chefs have their own kitchen on wheels.
We mostly only see food trucks during events like fairs. I think it has something to do with zoning or permits. There are a few BBQ joints that pop up now and again and there is also a Mexican food one that did so well thy are opening a small restaurant .
I like food trucks, here too they for sure get inspected.
I am with you Shelly, food trucks are where it is now! Growing up, I always thought of Food Trucks as nasty and unsanitary. However, there is some delicious food on some of the local Food Trucks in my area. My office building has a monthly calendar of Food Trucks! Everyday around 10:30 we pull up the daily calendar to see what delicious offerings we will have that day.
Some of them have really good food! When I lived in Ocala Fl there was a guy that had one that served BBQ and I swear it was the best I have ever eaten. People would be lined up around the block!
