I wanted to take a few minutes to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I’m really excited to see what the brand new year holds for my family, friends and of course…the Two Classy Chics blog!
How do you typically celebrate New Year’s Day? Do you stay home and enjoy a special dinner or do you head out to eat? We typically enjoy the day hosting dinner at our home. We like to make a big batch of pork, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Then we typically sit around with full bellies watching a movie or playing games with the kids.
Now that we’re both getting older we’re considering doing something different next year. A lot of nice restaurants in our area are open for the holiday and take reservations. We checked out a few of them 2 weeks ago to just get some ideas for next year. We’re seriously thinking about doing holiday dinner reservations next year which means no cleaning, no cooking and no after-dinner clean-up! That sounds good to me!
We hope that everyone enjoys the holiday with their loved ones. Over the next week or so we’ll be working on a “very light” schedule here on the blog. We worked hard over the holiday season and we all need some down time over the next 2 weeks. Happy New Year!!!

We went to the casino. They had some nice bands and always have a balloon drop and all kinds of specials. It was a nice time, I like the best I think the lack of people really messed up. As we get older, it bothers me more all the drunk driver.
We had a quiet day at home. We had meatloaf, collards, and black-eyed peas. That is a traditional southern meal in the South on New Years in our home. Take as much time off as you need to recoup from that wonderful season of gifts you had. And I think your idea of reservations next year is great.
I usually spend New Year’s Day at home with my family . We have a special meal and talk about the family and their hopes.
