Craft Project: Hand Painted Golf Design Seashells
Large Clam Shell
Dark Green, Light Green, White and Red Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Black Fine-Tip Sharpie Marker
Silver Medium-Tip Sharpie Marker
Clear Acrylic Spray Sealer – Glossy or Matte Finish
We used large clam shells that measure between 5″ to 7″ wide. Wash and air dry your seashells before starting this project. Get all of the sand off and make sure they are thoroughly dry!!!
Using the dark green acrylic paint, give your seashell 2 coats of paint, allowing 30 minutes to dry between each coat. Use the light green acrylic paint to paint on your putting green. It should be an “odd” shape, almost bean-shape. Let dry. Use white acrylic paint to make a small circle to serve as the “hole”. Let dry.
Use the black Sharpie Marker to outline your putting green, the “hole” and to make a flagpole. Let dry. Use red acrylic paint to make a triangle shape to serve as the flag. Let dry. Use the Sharpie Marker to outline your flag. To finish up the design you’ll want to use the silver metallic Sharpie Marker to write the words “Tee Time” onto the seashell. Let dry for about 15 minutes (these markers dry super-quickly).
Take the seashells outside and lay them onto newspaper. Use the clear acrylic spray sealer and give them a nice, even coat. If you’re going to be displaying them outdoors, I recommend 2-3 coats. If displaying them indoors, 1 coat is fine. Let dry.

This would be great for all those golf players. I am sure they would really like these in the garden or on a porch.
The kids will have a blast coming up with all sorts of designs. These will be super cute in the garden as well as in indoor plant pots too.
I need some clam shells 🙂 You come up with some very unique designs.I have friends that would get a kick out of these. Now myself, I cant golf with anything but so many do I know!
