I love chocolate and consider myself to be a chocolate snob. I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to try out all kinds of different chocolate from all around the world. Yes, that’s one of the perks of doing a lot of traveling! When it comes to chocolate, I’m all about the smooth texture and the delectable taste.

Lucy Miefield’s chocolate is different than other brands you may see. Here is why their chocolate is different.

* Although they love indulgence and exclusivity, if they want artisanal chocolate to thrive, it has to be accessible to everyone, not just those who can spend $9-$24 on one 2oz bar (ours average $4.75 each).

* Once they’ve tasted the difference, even people who still call it a “candy bar” fall in love and become passionate supporters of artisanal chocolate.

* We know quality isn’t all about expensive equipment and beautiful packaging. It comes from a broad and sophisticated palate, along with a passion for excellence.

Lucy Meifield has both and wants to share their passion with chocolate-lovers around the globe while still supporting local artists.

Lucy Meifield Artisanal Chocolate Bars

We had the opportunity to try out three different chocolate bars from Lucy Meifield and here are the three flavors we received:

* The Guatemala bar contains 2 ingredients: Cacao and Cane Sugar. The artwork on the wrapper was done by Jim Chillington. This bar has hints of dark cherry and toasted pecan.

* The Milk Chocolate bar contains 4 ingredients: Cacao, Cane Sugar, Milk Powder and Cacao Butter. The artwork on the wrapper was done by Florine Stettheimer. A sweet and flavorful chocolate with hints of marshmallow, vanilla and caramel.

* The Dark Milk Chocolate bar contains 4 ingredients: Cacao, Cane Sugar, Milk Powder and Cacao Butter. The artwork on the wrapper was done by Angela Cox. Expect a smoky flavor with hints of nutmeg and juniper.

Hubby and I had a fun time taste-testing all three of the chocolate bars! My favorite was the Milk Chocolate and his favorite was the Dark Milk Chocolate. The funny thing is that we would definitely buy all three! They each have a distinct chocolate flavor to them and what we both loved is that there was no bitterness to them at all. The texture was smooth! We like to break off a little block and just let it melt in our mouths. That’s the best way to enjoy chocolate…slow and easy. Oh my gosh, these chocolates are good!!!
