Dukes Spirits The Gunsmoke Holiday Cocktail Recipe

December 25, 2018 by Jenelle

Merry Christmas to everyone! Now that Christmas is here (and almost over with) it’s time to get ready for New Year’s Eve and all of those fun parties that are still ahead.

Today we wanted to share with you this delicious looking recipe that’s courtesy of Duke Spirits called The Gunsmoke. The bourbon was created using John Wayne’s handwritten notes and is made from the highest quality ingredients and aged in charred, new American oak barrels. This cocktail is sure to impress all your guests this holiday season.

1 1/2 oz Duke Bourbon
3/4 oz Fresh Bayleaf Syrup
3/4 oz Yuzu Lemon Blend
2 Dashes Elemakule Tiki Bitters

Dry shake all ingredients, add ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a small coupe. Place the cocktail under a glass cloche and fill the cloche with cherrywood smoke from a smoking gun. Let sit for 30 seconds then enjoy!

I did not know that John Wayne created the recipe for a bourbon. This is a very interesting cocktail.

What a neat idea. Creating the bourbon using John Wayne’s notes is very interesting.

First I’d have to get a smoking gun. Would be an impressive cocktail.
