The Discovery Solar Robot Creation Kit

December 18, 2018 by Shelly

The Discovery Solar Robot Creation KitAre you looking for the perfect gift for an older child on your gift-giving list? Looking for something that’s educational, reusable, fun and affordably priced? If so, I think you’re going to love the item that we’re featuring for you today. It’s for kids ages 8 and up and made by Discovery.

* Complimentary product received for review. This post may contain affiliate links.

The Discovery Solar Robot Creation Kit comes with 190 easy -build pieces and is powered by the sun. No batteries are needed. With this one kit your child can build 12 different robots and explore the world of engineering. In addition to the 190 pieces, you’ll find custom decals and an instruction manual too.

Children can build solar powered robots that walk, crawl, roll or float in water! They will learn engineering skills and teaches children about solar energy in a fun & creative way. The kit would be appropriate for both boys and girls ages 8 and over.

The Discovery Solar Robot Creation Kit

The robots that you can build have super-fun names:

Puppy-Bot, Surf-Bot, Beetle-Bot, Crab-Bot, Buggy-Bot, Zombie-Bot, Slither-Bot, Quad-Bot, Roly-Poly Bot, Row-Bot, Turtle-Bot and Walker-Bot.

Our 9 1/2 year old granddaughter will be staying with us for 9 days over the Christmas holiday and school break. My husband has already told me that they will be building some of the robots from this kit. It’s a nice kit that the two of them can do together. Gotta love family bonding time and its educational too!

Once they get a robot fully built I will come back to update my post with some photographs and additional information. In the meantime I wanted to get this review published as I think this kit makes the PERFECT holiday gift! You can find the kit at various retailers across the nation and from retailers online.

There is a FREE Discovery #MindBlown App that lets you discover exclusive DIY videos, games and more. You can download it from the App Store or get it on Google Play. You can learn more at DiscoveryMindBlown.com and you can learn more about STEM at DiscoveryEducation.com.

This does sound like the perfect kit for kids ages 8 and up. I know my sons would have loved to have this kit when they were young.
