Cape May is one of the prettiest coastal towns in southern New Jersey and is always worthy of a visit when we’re in the area. We try to visit twice a year during the months of June and September, and always have a great time.
When the grandchildren are with us we like to visit Cape May Harbor so that they can sit and watch the deep sea fishing boats and yachts go in & out of the harbor. They get a real “kick” out of seeing them…especially my grandson.
As an adult, I enjoy seeing the fancy yachts and how the “other half” lives. Oh my gosh, you would NOT believe the size and luxuriousness of some of those yachts…heck I could live in them full-time with all of the amenities that some of them have! The one that hubby got to tour was for sale and the owner was asking over $2 million dollars. Wow! Sigh.
When you get up close and personal with some of the deep sea fishing boats you can really tell it…they smell…well…like fish! I don’t know if I could handle smelling that particular smell 24 hours a day, 7 days a week…but I guess you get used to it over time.
I thought it would be fun to show you a few photos of some of the fishing boats and yachts that we saw during our most recent trip down to Cape May in New Jersey. Have any of you ever visited Cape May? If you had the choice…would you ever live full-time on a boat?

I would never live full-time on a boat. I have enjoyed all your photos of Cape May and would love to visit there.
I like watching boats come and go, too. And I’d love to see one of those yachts, too!
Boats are so peaceful! Also, they’re great for adventure. So fun!
Yes, I have been to Cape May quite a few times. What a great place to shop and eat.
While you were there did you get to eat at the Lobster House?
Honestly I do not think I could live full time on a boat.
I think you would get used to the smell like any other place. I dont know about living on one full time, but part time maybe. I would do it in a warmer climate. These boats are amazing, and much smaller than you would think. Imagine the stormy sea in one!
I love these pictures they look like paintings to me. I don’t know why I love harbors to much always have. It has been way too long since I have been to the beach I sure miss it.
I haven’t been to Cape May. However, I have read several posts where you talk about Cape May and now I want to go! It must be nice to be able to afford a $2 Million dollar yacht. However, I fully understand what you are saying about living in one; it would be nice.
