White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn Bark Recipe

November 29, 2018 by Carol

How many of you enjoy making homemade foodie gifts to give out during the holiday season? During the Christmas season I make a lot of foodie gifts and give them out to my neighbors, family and friends.

Today’s guest post recipe is courtesy of Popcorn.org and will yield approximately 1 pound. You can easily make this recipe and place it into foodie boxes, decorated foodie gift bags, etc. Add a gift tag and ribbon bow and you’re good to go!

White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn Bark Recipe

White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn Bark Recipe

5 cups popped popcorn
12 ounces white chocolate baking chips, chopped white chocolate or white candy coating
1 cup crushed hard candy peppermints

Cover a baking pan with foil or wax paper; set aside. Place popcorn in a large bowl; set aside. Melt chocolate in a double boiler over barely simmering water, stirring until smooth OR melt according to package directions. Stir in crushed peppermints after chocolate is melted. Pour chocolate mixture over popcorn mixture and stir to coat. Spread onto prepared pan; allow to cool completely.

When chocolate is cooled and set, break into chunks for serving. Store in an air-tight container at room temperature.

My mother always made gift plates for people at Christmas. I haven’t followed that tradition but this recipe would be a great addition.

I really like peppermint. It’s the flavor that most screams Christmas to me, so I’ll try this.
